Thursday 26th January – Pub quiz – As many will know, the legendary pub quiz at 8.30pm on the last Thursday of every month in Fiddler’s Green pub, Church St, Portaferry is in aid of PAST. Do come along for a great evening’s craic and help us with our work.

Friday 27th January – Talk – Dr. Bob Brown will be giving a talk entitled “Birds of the Narrows…. the bigger picture!” at 7.30pm in the Market House, The Square, Portaferry. Admission, £3 in aid of PAST, includes refreshments. Bob is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining speaker. This promises to be a fascinating evening. All welcome.

Thursday 23rd January – Pub quiz

Friday 24th February – Talk – February’s PAST event is all about maritime heritage. It not only deals with a specific project in Newry to restore the Silvery Light, an historic herring drifter built in 1884, but also, more generally, with efforts to bring together those involved in maritime heritage in N. Ireland. Gerry Brennan is a leading light in both. Having heard him speak I know that we are in for an enthusiastic presentation. Refreshments are included in the admission fee of only £3.

Saturday 30th September – Shipwreck bus tour of Lecale, Ian Wilson, coach tour.

Friday 27th October – Talk, “Following Lord Dufferin to High Latitudes”, James Nixon, Portaferry Market House.

Friday 17th November – Talk, “Newry Canal, Past, Present and Future”, Geraldine Foley, Portaferry Market House.

Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd December – Major community event – 4th “Carol Ship on Strangford Lough”
